Create a project

An aiR for Privilege project defines the documents you want to analyze. Each project has a dedicated set of pipeline steps that when completed will generate document results. Only a single aiR for Privilege project within a workspace can be In Progress at any given time. Complete any in progress projects before starting another project in the same workspace.

Pre project checklist

Before creating a project, reference this checklist to make sure you’ve completed all the requirements:

Saved search requirements

Following are requirements for creating a saved search of documents to analyze:

  • The number of documents included in the saved search must not exceed the 500,000 limit.
  • Selected documents should not have already been run through a previous aiR for Privilege project.
Exclude these documents by adding a condition to the saved search of “Privilege Project” is NOT SET.
  • No documents included in the saved search should have an “Extracted Text Size in KB” field value greater than the 170KB limit.
Exclude documents with values greater than this limit by adding a condition to the saved search of “Extracted Text Size” is LESS THAN 170KB.
Note: aiR for Privilege considers model limitations and accuracy when determining document extracted text size limitations. The size of our instructions, injected context, and document extracted text all have an impact on limitations and accuracy. aiR for Privilege may have different limits that aiR for Review because of differences in instructions and injected context sizes (e.g. aiR for Review has dynamic instructions that include matter information provided by the user unlike aiR for Privilege).
  • No documents included in the saved search should have an “Extracted Text Size in KB” field value of less than 0.05KB.
Exclude documents with values smaller than this limit by adding a condition to the saved search of “Extracted Text Size in KB” is GREATER THAN 0.05KB.
  • All documents included in the saved search must have a value in the “Record Type” field.
Exclude documents missing values in this field by adding a condition to the saved search of “Record Type” is SET.
  • All documents included in the saved search must contain Extracted Text.
Exclude documents missing Extracted Text by adding a condition to the saved search of “Extracted Text Size” is NOT 0.00.
Note: To exclude documents without Extracted Text we run a search condition using the Extracted Text Size field rather than the Extracted Text field itself.
  • All the documents included in the saved search must have a value in the “Extracted Text Size in KB” field.
Exclude documents missing values in this field by adding a condition to the saved search of "Extracted Text Size in KB" is SET.

Caution: If any of the conditions listed above are not met, Prepare Project Run will fail. Check Prepare Project Errors to find the relevant solution.

Saved search considerations

Consider the following when creating a saved search:

  • Do you want to include only Responsive documents?
  • Do you want to only include Inclusive documents as defined by email threading?
  • Do you want to only include documents that contain English? See Considerations.
  • Do you want to include attachments (Family) or just propagate decisions down to attachments after results populate?
  • Make sure that the Priv Project document field is not set for documents included in your saved search. Documents ran through earlier projects will cause an error.

Creating a project

To create a new project:

  1. Hover over the aiR for Privilege icon on the navigation bar.
  2. Select Projects (Priv).
  3. Click New Privilege Project.
  4. Complete the Privilege Project form.
  5. Click Save.

Project form fields

The following fields appear on the Privilege Project form:

Field Field type Required field Description Notes

Name

Fixed-length text Y The name of the project connected to the documents included in the project and other artifacts created by the project.

Should be unique to limit confusion.

You can change this later if necessary.

Saved Search

Saved search object Y This setting determines the documents included in the project upon the running of the Prepare Project pipeline step.

See Saved search requirements.

Note: Documents in the saved search are linked to the project at the start of the Prepare Project pipeline step. Changes made to the saved search after this point are not respected. You can view the documents included in a project using the Privilege Project field on the document object.

Note: Although you can create a project when another project is In Progress in the same workspace, you will not be able to start it until you complete the other project. Only a single aiR for Privilege project within a workspace can be In Progress at any given time.
