Searching for documents with Redact fields

Redact comes with several fields to help make tracking markups applied both inside and outside of Redact easy.

The following fields can be used to track markups:

Field Name Description
Redact - Has External Markups A multi-object field associated with the Markup Set Relativity field. You can use this field to determine if a document was externally redacted and associated with one or more markup sets.
Redact - Has Native Highlights A multi-object field associated with the Markup Set Relativity field. You can use this field to determine if one or many markup sets have spreadsheet or PDF highlights.
Redact - Has Manual Native Markups A multi-object field associated with the Markup Set Relativity field. You can use this field to determine if one or many markup sets have documents with manually placed markups.
Redact - Has Native Redactions A multi-object field associated with the Markup Set Relativity field. You can use this field to determine if one or many markup sets have spreadsheet or PDF redactions.

Creating a saved search using Redact fields

Before creating a saved search, ensure that you are a System or Case Administrator with permission to create Relativity searches and then do the following:

  1. Navigate to the Documents tab, click on the Saved Searches browser icon, and click Create New Search.
  2. Click Add Condition.
  3. In the field list, select the desired Blackout field.
  4. Click the Add Condition button and select the same Blackout field.
    The filter modal displays.
  5. Select the desired markup set options to determine which documents will display in the results of the saved search.
  6. Click the right arrow icon to move the selected markup set options to the right table and click Apply.
  7. Click Apply again.
  8. Optionally, repeat steps 2-7 to add additional fields as needed.
  9. Click Save & Search or Search.
    The Document list is updated to show only documents that fit the condition criteria.
