Q&A Case Strategy Advanced Access
This application uses generative AI to help you investigate and better understand the data in your documents to help you form your case strategy. You can use conversational language to ask the AI questions to save time locating relevant information in Relativity.
Advanced Access is an opportunity to evaluate and work with Relativity features prior to General Availability release. Relativity customers typically participate in Advanced Access programs on a feature-by-feature basis. The functionality described in this document may not be available in all Relativity environments and may not represent the functionality, appearance or behavior of the General Availability release version of this feature.
Permissions
If the Q&A Case Strategy application is installed in a workspace, all users in that workspace have access to this feature. If you would like to determine which users can use Q&A Case Strategy, we recommend disabling user access to any workspaces where this application is installed. For more information, see Setting workspace permissions.
Considerations
The Q&A Case Strategy application supports:
- Up to 1 MB of extracted text per document.
- Up to 500 MB of extracted text across all documents in workspace.
Indexing documents
To begin using Q&A Case Strategy, documents need to be indexed during fact generation using aiR for Case Strategy. If you enable the Index Saved Search for Q&A option on the Generate Facts modal, the documents included in the job will be indexed. To learn more, see Generate facts and case documents.
If there are no indexed documents and you open the Q&A Case Strategy window, the Index Documents button displays. Click Index Documents to begin indexing eligible documents.
The Ask a question textbox is not available while documents are indexed.
Navigating the Q&A Case Strategy window
There are several options available while using the Q&A Case Strategy window to help you manage it. These options are described below.

Start new chat |
Click to start a new chat conversation below the previous one, separated by a line. The new chat conversation does not reference previous conversations for its responses. |

Click to enlarge the chat window or reduce its size. |

Click to close the Q&A Case Strategy window. Your previous questions and the generated response persist between user sessions. |

Ask a question |
Click and using your keyboard, enter the question you would like to be answered. Press Enter to receive a response. Questions must be at least three characters long to submit. |
Asking a question
You can ask Q&A Case Strategy questions about indexed documents using conversational language. The questions and answers only display for the user who asked the questions and the results persist between user sessions for your convenience.
To ask a question:
- Click on the Ask AI button.
- Select the Q&A Case Strategy option from the drop-down menu.
The Q&A Case Strategy window displays.
- Using your keyboard, enter a question into the Ask a question textbox.
- Press Enter to submit the question.
Q&A Case Strategy displays a response that includes a list of references and documents with control numbers. We recommend reviewing the accuracy of the answer and its citations. For additional information on responses, see Navigating the responses.
After each question and response, review the accuracy of the answer and its citations. Where appropriate, record your feedback and send it to the Relativity team.
Navigating the responses
After submitting a question, you will receive an answer in the Q&A Case Strategy window. You can interact with the results in several ways which are explained below.
