Mass operations
- Notes:
- Some mass operations like Edit, Replace, and Delete can temporarily lock down the document table while executing. In a workspace with a large number of records and users, the table may be locked for an extended period of time and prevent users from performing standard edits. In such cases, we recommend carrying out mass operations at night or an off-peak time.
- You can't use mass operations on Data Grid-enabled fields.
See the following mass operations for details:
- Cancel Production Job
- Mass edit
- Mass copy
- Mass move
- Mass delete
- Mass PDF
- Mass replace
- Mass image
- Tally/sum/average
- Send to CaseMap
- Mass export to file
- Mass convert
- Move to folder path
- Mass Save as List
- Mass cluster
- Re-produce
- Set long text field size
- Invite users

Using mass operations
As a system admin, you’re dealing with a case that uses the following issues in Relativity: Lead, Asbestos, Asphalt, and Radioactive isotopes. You just learned that Asphalt is no longer relevant to the case, so you need to remove any document tagged as Asphalt. You could do this a number of ways, but the most efficient way is to use
You can filter the Issues view for documents that have been coded for asphalt on the Issues – Hazardous Materials field and select those documents. In the mass operations drop-down menu, you leave the selection column as Checked and you select the Delete operation. You select the option to Delete documents and all associated files. You then click Delete to remove these documents from the workspace.
In this way, you've used a mass operation to mitigate the danger of inappropriately connecting the supplier to this potentially hazardous material, an association that could have proven problematic when submitting produced documents to the judge. You can now proceed with the case.
