OCR on redacted production documents
Preparing redacted documents for production is a common challenge in eDiscovery. This topic provides details on completing OCR on redacted documents and exporting the text.
Before you begin
Run OCR after you complete the production but before you perform the final export:
- The production must have a status of Produced before you can select it in an OCR set.
- Create an OCR profile with your preferred settings.
- Create a long text field to hold your OCR results. You cannot OCR directly into the Extracted Text field.
Running the OCR job
- Create an OCR Set.
- In the OCR Document Set field, select the completed production.
- To OCR only redacted documents, select Yes next to Only OCR Production Documents Containing Redactions.OCR processes original images and production images, including burned-in redactions from the production process. OCR does not run on native files. Productions where redactions were applied directly to a PDF are not processed.
- To OCR only redacted documents, select Yes next to Only OCR Production Documents Containing Redactions.
- Click Save on the OCR Set.
- On the OCR console, click OCR Documents to start the job.
- When the OCR job is complete, the OCR text becomes ready to export.
Exporting a production
You can use Import/Export to export a production set load file out of RelativityOne. For details, see Exporting a production set load file via Import/Export.
