Communications

Communications are the emails Legal Hold sends to custodians throughout a legal hold project. You can use communications to issue hold notices, release custodians, alert groups based on questionnaire responses, and collect email acknowledgements. Each communication belongs to a project and uses one of the communication types which determines who receives it and what action they can take.

You can create communications from a blank template or an existing template, customize them using the rich text editor and email merge fields, and attach files or questionnaires. After sending a communication, Legal Hold tracks custodian responses in the Mailbox and on the Custodian Status dashboard. You can configure automatic reminders and escalations for custodians who have not responded.
