Propagate results to family members

aiR for Privilege focuses on analyzing the text within the four corners of each document. aiR for Privilege bases privilege determinations solely on the content of the individual document. Determinations are not automatically propagated to family member documents such as email attachments or related threads.

To code family members for privilege, begin by reviewing all documents with a prediction of Privileged independently. Next, review the family members of those documents coded as Privileged.

Suggested workflow

Following is the suggested workflow for propagating results to family members:

  1. Initial coding:
    1. Review all documents predicted as privileged to make a final privilege determination.
    2. Search Conditions:
      Priv::Prediction = “Privileged”
      An image of search conditions
  2. Creating a saved search of related documents:
    1. Once initial coding is complete, create a saved search of all the documents coded and confirmed to be privileged.
    2. Update the search to include family members such as attachments, email threads, etc.
    3. Search Conditions:
      1. Privilege Coding =“Privileged” (or equivalent field used in the review for the final privilege calls.)
      2. Related Items = “+Family”
        An image of search conditions
  3. Review documents
    Carefully review the related documents. Review the privileged document and individually tag family members as privileged where necessary, ensuring that coding for all documents in the family group is correct.
