Creating a batched queue (Advanced Access)

Advanced Access (AA) indicates that this feature is available for evaluation by a limited set of RelativityOne customers before the General Availability (GA) release.
The functionality described in this topic may not be available in all RelativityOne environments at this time and may not represent the functionality, appearance, or behavior of the GA release version of this feature.

Setting up a batched Review Center queue includes creating the queue, assigning batches, and starting it.

See these related pages:

Creating the queue

To create a batched queue:

  1. On the Review Center tab, click the Add Queue button.
  2. From the Saved Search Queue types, select Batches.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Fill out the queue fields:
    •  For descriptions of all fields that are not related to batching, see Creating a Review Center queue.
    • The batch-related fields are:
      • Minimum Batch Size—the minimum batch size that will be created during an auto-refresh.
        • If auto-refresh is enabled, new batches will be automatically created from new documents added to the saved search. If auto-refresh is disabled, you must manually refresh the queue to batch new documents together.
        • During a manual refresh, you can choose whether to create a batch smaller than the minimum. For more information, see Managing batched queues (Advanced Access).
      • Maximum Batch Size—the maximum number of documents to be batched together.
        • If the Relational Field for the queue is set, some batches may be larger in order to include a whole document family. For example, if the Maximum Batch Size is 100, and a document family contains 120 documents, those documents will be put in a batch of 120.
        • If the Batch Unit Field is set, groupings based on that field will stay within the Maximum Batch Size. For example, if the Batch Unit Field is set to group custodian documents together, but the Maximum Batch Size is set to 100, the batches will not contain more than 100 documents at a time. This stays the same regardless of how many documents each custodian has.
      • Batch Unit Field (optional)—the field that Review Center uses to group similar documents together. Common choices include custodians, file types, and so on.
  5. Click Create Queue.

The queue appears on the dashboard.

Assigning batches from the dashboard

You can assign batches to reviewers from the Review Center dashboard. If you prefer to let reviewers choose their own from the Review Queues tab, you can leave some or all batches unassigned.

In order to assign batches from the dashboard, you must have the Assign Batches permission:

Tab Visibility Other Settings
  • Review Center
  • Assign Batches

To assign batches to reviewers:

  1. On the Review Center dashboard, scroll down to the All Documents table.
  2. Click the blue arrow next to the table name, then select Batches. This switches the panel to show the Batches table.
  3. Select the batch or batches you want to assign, then click Manage Batch Assignment.
  4. Choose the following:
    • Action: Assign
    • Reviewer: Select a reviewer.
  5. Click Assign.

If you do not assign all batches, reviewers can assign themselves available batches from the Review Queues tab. For more information, see Checking out batches (Advanced Access).

By default, batches are offered to reviewers in order of when the batches were created. Reviewers can also select individual batches from the Review Queues tab.

Starting the queue

To start the queue, click Prepare and Start on the Review Center dashboard. This makes the batches available to reviewers.

For information on managing the queue, see Managing batched queues (Advanced Access).
