Roles
After installing and setting up permissions, the admin must create a preservation role. The tag assigned to the role determines which preservation app is used for the entire project. You cannot use both the Preservation hold (Legacy) app and the Preservation in-place app in the same legal hold project.
Use the new Preservation in-place app for any new preservation holds.
Considerations
If you add custodians with the Preserve Data (New) tag and preserve data using the Preserve in-place app:
- You cannot add any custodians with the Place On Preservation Hold (Legacy) tag.
- You cannot add a preservation case to the Preservation hold (Legacy) project.
If you add a preservation case to the project in the Preservation hold (Legacy) app:
- You cannot add any custodians with the Preserve Data (New) tag.
- The Preserve Data button for the Preservation in-place app will not appear in the project.
Do not select Preservation in the Legal Hold project wizard. It still uses the legacy Preservation form and will hide any roles with the Preserve Data (New) tag along with the Preserve Data button.
