Next Gen Identity Server
Next Gen Identity Server should not be deployed during EA except for customers participating in the beta program.
About the Next Gen Identity Server
The Next Gen Identity Server is Relativity's authentication and authorization service. It handles user sign-in, session management, and sign-out. It runs as an ASP.NET Core 10 application under Internet Information Services (IIS).
Starting with Server 2026, the Next Gen Identity Server is a separate component. You must explicitly install, verify, and enable it before it becomes active. It does not install automatically as part of the Relativity platform upgrade.
For an overview of what is changing, see the Product Overview.
Before you begin. Install the Next Gen Identity Server on the Identity Server host - a single dedicated IIS server. Do not install on the Relativity web server, SQL Server, or primary server. This applies to all deployment types. For full prerequisites, see the Pre-installation guide.
