Use the search section to run keyword searches against patents. Refer to dtSearch syntax options, including special characters and operators. Searches return yes/no results, which you can use to prioritize patents for further review.
Use the following steps to enter search terms:
1. Click the Add Keyword Search button.
2. Enter a Name.
This value is the name of the yes/no column displaying the search results.
Use the Search Operators link to refer to dtSearch syntax options, including special characters and operators.
3. Click Save.
A new column appears in the List view, to the right of the concept and section columns. The column heading is the name assigned to the keyword search.
You can filter the keyword column results using the filter just below the column heading. To filter keyword results:
1. Click the keyword filter drop-down menu.
2. Select an option for sorting results.
To review the most relevant patents, sort a concept or section column (highest scored to lowest), then look for keyword searches returning Yes results.
